It's the season ender for Season 8 of the classic series...and for our Halloween-themed screening, we're showing The Daemons.
Much like Image of the Fendahl, this story (written by Barry Letts and Robert Sloman under the pen name "Guy Leopold") takes much of its imagery and concepts from the classic film Quatermass and the Pit - goings on at a quaint English village reveal not just powers beyond current understanding....but that a malevolent alien force may have had a hand in human development. Featuring Roger Delgado as the Master, this is a story that is one of the highlights of the "U.N.I.T. Era", and there's a nice ease to the performances. In addition, this was a story that was formerly "lost", then found as a black-and-white copy, and painstakingly restored to color. It's an episode that fans of both the classic and new series can really enjoy. (If you liked The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit, this is a must-view).
Note: This story is in five parts, and lasts about two hours. Please make appropriate travel plans if you're planning to attend.
