For this month's screening, yes, we're doing classic who, but we're doing two stories that serve as bookends (and for new Who fans, might give you a taste of where Matt Smith and David Tennant learned how to play the Doctor)
First, we'll be showing the episode "An Unearthly Child". That's right - not the whole story, but the first ever episode of Doctor Who with William Hartnell. Of course, after that we will be showing...
....Remembrance of the Daleks, which kicked off the series' 25th anniversary in 1988. Starring Sylvester McCoy as the 7th Doctor, Remembrance contains many plot elements that harken back to the original pilot. Think of this as a way to "see how they connect".
A few things to note:
- Third Coast Comics is a short walk from the Granville Red Line Station on Broadway, and is across the street from McDonald's. If you require more detailed transit information, please visit http://www.transitchicago.com
- You are more than welcome to visit Third Coast a bit earlier - it is new comic day, and would be a great opportunity to not only pick up some comics, but help support a local business.
- Parking can be found along Broadway - it is paid (via the infamous parking boxes), and costs approximately $2 for the evening.
- Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food and beverage - there are a variety of fast food places near the Red Line stop, and there is a CVS and an Aldi within walking distance of Third Coast.
