Pre-Chicago TARDIS Anniversary Screening: THE FIVE DOCTORS (Special Edition)

  • Nov 14, 2012 · 7:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

On November 23, 1983, Chicago was fortunate enough to see the premiere of the 20th anniversary special The Five Doctors...before it was broadcast in England.

That's true. It was on Channel 11, WTTW in Chicago.

But in celebration of the show's 49th anniversary - and in preparation for the upcoming Chicago TARDIS convention after Thanksgiving - we'll be screening the Special Edition of The Five Doctors at Third Coast Comics.

(Yes, we have access to the televised edition, but the Special Edition has a slightly better look to it).

So please join us, and keep the following in mind:

  • We would like to thank Terry at Third Coast, who is gracious enough to host screenings for our Meetup group. Please feel free to thank him by showing up a bit early and purchasing some fine comics.
  • Third Coast Comics is just a short walk from the Granville Red Line Station, and is within short distance of several bus lines. For more detailed transit information, please visit http://www.transitchicago.com
  • Street parking is available for $2 via the ubiquitous parking boxes.
  • If you would like to get more up-to-date information on future meetups, please follow us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ChicagoDrWhoMeetup

They ended up cancelling mandatory overtime for this week. I figured I'd keep my RSVP as 'No' and let someone have a chance to attend the screening.
