50th Anniversary Timey-Wimey Count Up/Down ** Fifth Doctor **

Our quest to watch a story from a different Doctor every month continues until we reach November and Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary!

The Fifth Doctor as played by Peter Davison is the star this month, but he's not alone! See how Doctor Who celebrated big years in the past with the[masked]th anniversary special, The Five Doctors. Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, and (briefly) Tom Baker reprise their roles as the Doctor, and Richard Hurndall stands in for the late William Hartnell. The story features companions from throughout the show's history, Daleks, Cybermen, the Master, Time Lords... You name it - this one's got it!

Our gracious host for this meetup is The Greenway Club at Falls River. The event will be open to club members as well, so as always, please welcome any newcomers. We will have light snacks and drinks on hand, but feel free to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Quick service restaurants in the neighborhood are:

See you there!

It was great seeing everyone and it was interesting to see the enhanced version of the five doctors. I think I liked the old ending better with the different TARDISes flying off in different directions better than the time scope that was used at the end.

i see that my DVD has two discs and the two versions. it's the DVD released in 2008. how sad is this? i didn't even realize there were two versions until my 5-yr-old told me there were some differences in last night's showing than the one i always put in here at home.

That's probably the re-release then. My DVD is one of the first Doctor Who stories to come out in that format.

i would just like to say that it has been so wonderful to meet and get to know so many fun, cool and friendly people who happily also happen to share a love for dr. who. my kids have also been warmly welcomed and have enjoyed the get-togethers and that means so much to me. i'm a bit socially awkward at times, myself, and shy and slow to warm up to new people but this group is just the best.

Sorry I missed this. It's been crazy this week, my wife's aunt is in critical condition, and I forgot about this meetup completely.

Sorry to hear that, Rick, and sorry you weren't able to make it. We understand that things happen that have to be taken care of first.

My husband and I will be bringing our 112 year old, since she is the Dr. Who expert.

You have a 112 year old daughter?! We seem to have a family of Time Lords in our midst! <G>
