In the beginning there were Doctor Who episodes, and those episodes were stored away neatly in the BBC Archives. At least until such time as more storage room was needed and said Doctor Who episodes were callously disposed. Today 97 episodes of Doctor Who from the 1960's are simply missing.
But we have the scripts.
And we read them together,
Sometimes in costume,
Sometimes we stick to the script.
But Always Hilarious.
Our SEVENTH ANNUAL LOST EPISODE SCRIPT READ THROUGH!
This time we have two twists on the format.
1. Our selection for this year is the First Doctor serial from 1965 The Crusade. So, Spamalot style costumes are totally in play here. Creative cardboard and plastic swords or other medieval weaponry is a MUST.
2. It's about to get timey-wimey in here, as we will be reading/acting the episode out in a different order than strictly sequential beginning-to-end. Maybe horrifying deaths occur in reverse! Mighty battles are waged to-the-life! Danger might be run toward. Heroes can be come un-knighted!
Again, this is an activity we have run for a number of years now, and once people kind of immerse into it, the reading really starts to get interesting and fun. I promise!
If you wish to learn more about the episode to perhaps prepare for the event. See the wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crusade_(Doctor_Who)
If you want to see the script itself, you can access it via resource link: http://homepages.bw.edu/~jcurtis/Scripts/Crusade/intro.html
