DS:London is getting a tiny bit bigger after the recent London Games Festival and a mention in the Metro. Not long ago, we had a real blast of a meet with over 40 gamers. Another one for the record books; we flooded the Yorkshire Grey with cries of joy, pain, anger and lotsa musical DS noises. It was also the official announcement of the Children In Need charity fun tourney. We've have booked the Gallery bar@Uni of London Union for November 17th to host the event following on from our successful Red Nose Day Tourney back in March. There are four main tournaments we are planning to host: Mario Kart, Tetris and Bomberman. There will also be a special multi gaming tournament called the Nintendo Iron(wo)men Tournament (N.I.T). The N.I.T will consist of a whole bunch of games from Brain training, 42 All Time Classics and Wii Boxing. Yes we will have a Wii as well! Not only that, but we'll also be projecting most of the competitions on a screen to allow all spectators to follow the action as it occurs! For those who don't know, the Gallery is a student union located near Goodge Street station just off Tottenham Court Road. It's a very cozy place with sofas and plenty of seating plus a nice cheap bar :) Registration will be done either through a separate mailing (to follow) or on the day between 3-4pm. In order to attend the event you will be asked to donate £2 for each tourney you are planning to enter or £5 for all of them, if you are planning just to attend and not to participate in the tourneys then we will request that you donate £1. Please note that ALL proceeds will go Children In Need. We should also have some prizes to the winners. If you wish to help in this event then please email us at [masked] for further details on how you can help. Essentially we need people to help in pormotion and maybe doing some-on-the-day activities. Please pass this on to any other people you think might be interested. But please note that the venue is a bar and so there is an over 18's policy, which is good thing as you won't have any annoying kids screaming in your ear! Get ya practising in!
