Trash Tour

  • Sep 6, 2010 · 9:30 PM
  • in front of D'Agostino's

We hope that you'll come to the meeting beforehand-- the small core group really needs help to keep events going, get the web site back in shape, and other great projects! But if you can't, we'll meet you at the first place we will explore among the area’s wasters of food and other goods. We give advice on how to salvage these goods and comment on the reasons for such waste. We will be giving priority to gathering food for the freegan feast which is the next night Tuesday, Sept 7 at a mystery location. The trash tour is open to media with prior appointment; camera-phobes beware.

It was a very good experience. Made me think over again not to waste and take whats needed and leave the rest for the needy. Nice event for networking.

It was my first meetup and it may very well be my last. It took place on a major holiday so the original location was closing when I arrived. We moved to another one in the adjacent Grand Central Station only to be ordered out of that because they were closing to the customers. So we would up sitting on the hard floor, not as much as it used to be given my age.
