NYU "Dorm Dive"

Join us (rain or shine) for our annual "Dorm Dive". We will salvage a fraction of the useable and valuable items that are thrown out by NYU students at the end of the school year. This is the one event in the year where we'll work with huge, high dumpsters. If you're able and inclined be prepared to climb in and out of dumpsters and possibly to lift and move heavy, awkward stuff (there's plenty of work to do outside the dumpsters so don't worry if climbing around in dumpsters is not your thing). Unlike other dives this will not be a tour as we tend to stay at the same dumpster throughout.

What to wear: sturdy shoes, clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Consider bringing a pair of work or garden gloves.

What to bring: bags and other containers to tote your newfound stuff, packing tape, info on other dorm move out dates/locations.

Media: are welcome by appointment.

More Info: call Janet[masked] (no texting please).

I go to NYU, everyone needs to be moved out by May 21. The locations are available on the website, I know they don't toss a lot of the stuff because first they put it into a big room and let other students pick through it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
