Hello everyone! How are you all?
(Apparently not all of you read this invite because it is so long, so to encourage you to do so there is something special hidden in the following text, see if you can find it )
I hope you all well and surviving the nasty weather here in Düsseldorf! Not sure if this is winter or just an angry autumn, rain, wind and a cold damp that gets into your bones. I heard that some people saw snow the other day in Düsseldorf, but I saw none, it must have been the lightest of snowfalls, quickly turned to slush by the rain. Boo!
On a more positive note Its Christmas time! The Weihnachtsmarkt is here again selling us all those essential things you can only find this time of year in only this type of market I forget what they are but I cant forget the lovely Glühwein, mit Shcuss of course. Amaretto is still my favourite second year running.
We would like to say a big thank you to all of who came to the last Meetup, especially to all of you who donated so generously to Movember. We managed to raise 153euro that night going towards a grand total of £665 raised by our team. Thank you to all those who donated, thanks to those who helped collect donations, and a special thanks to all those who grew a Schnurrbart for the month of Movember. Good Work Mo Bros, looking forward to next year already!
Did you enjoy the Stand Up Comedy Night? Joe Eagan really liked it here and will be returning again early next year to put on another event with some different acts, more details to follow!
So on to the main topic of this lengthy email
(Are you still reading? Still searching for that something special?)
The December Expat Meetup is on Thursday 15th December from 8pm at O'Reillys Irish Bar on Marktplatz.
We would like to give a typically warm, and a seasonally festive welcome to all new members who have recently arrived in Düsseldorf or joined our group! Meetup is a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world who have come to live, work or study in the Düsseldorf area. It is so easy to join, no cost, everyone is welcome! Just turn up, buy a drink and introduce yourself to fellow members.
If you are a regular member, you know what it is all about, just keep turning up and doing what you do, it is the great atmosphere that you create that makes our group grow month after month.
This month O'Reillys will give something back to the Düsseldorf Expat Meetup and have promised a special night for all of us with some festive fun & games and some giveaways!
If you sadly cant make it to the last Meetup this year then we would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year!
May peace, love and prosperity follow you always.
At Christmas play and make good cheer,
For Christmas comes but once a year!
All the best,
The Düsseldorf Expat Meetup Team
(Caro, Dinesh, Patrick, Mark)
By the way, did you find the something special? Actually there was nothing, Sorry! I just wanted you to read everything ;-)
