Hello folks,

Hope you are all doing fine! We're experiencing a cold snap of Artic weather this week, hope you are all coping with the fall in temperature! It looks set to continue for the rest of this week, wrap up with warm clothes

The next Duesseldorf Expat Meetup event is a few weeks away, we will be sending information about that very shortly. We had an excellent turnout for the January event, great feedback too so many thanks to you all who came for finding time to join us! We look forward to seeing you in February!

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about an event this weekend that is being arranged & organized by the Robert Schumann Hochschule, the music college in Duesseldorf. Sarah Spence, a member of our expat group who is also a student at Robert Schumann Hochschule, told us about this event and we asked if could pass on the details to fellow members of our group

The details are as follows. Several pieces of chamber music will be performed by musicians of Robert Schumann Hochschule as part of Chamber Music Weekend. The performances are on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th January, both days starting at 4pm. The programme is:

****

Saturday 4pm - Final Recital of pianist Sammy Lee. The Programme includes: Brahms Lieder, Britten Sonata and the Dvorak Dumky Piano Trio

Sunday 4pm - Final Recital of violinist Roman Brncic. The Programme includes: selections of well known Arias arranged for violin and soprano, Piazzola Tangos arranged for violin and guitar and the Grieg String Quartet in Gm.

****

As far as we know everything is free, no ticket purchase is required. The performances are taking place in their concert hall called the Partika-Saal.

If you wish to listen to some wonderful music being played by talented musicians, Sarah recommends you arrive with at least 5 minutes before performances start. If you do arrive late she advises that you wait outside the door for an applause break and then sneak in

Each concert should last just over an hour with a small break in the middle. There is another performance Saturday night, we will update you with further information about this as soon as we get it.

I have been to two performances given by students of Robert Schumann Hochschule last year, I enjoyed both and would recommend to anyone. Definitely worth your time to listen and show your support for these talented musicians.

I will include the details given to us by Sarah about this weekend's performances below. Please check this event often for further information in case we get further updates.

Wish you all a great week, look forward to seeing you all soon!

I'll be in touch about the Saturday night concert is it happens. And thanks for offering some promo, always appreciated! And of course, so are friendly faces in the audience.
