Remscheid - The City of Tools and X-rays!
We will visit the Röntgen museum (entrance fee € 3,50) and walk on the trails of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the explorer/discoverer of x-rays, who was born in Remscheid. Description, touch screens, audio guides available in German and English. Please see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_E680ehmt3E
We will also do a little walking tour around beautiful Remscheid-Lennep and visit a nice café, where they serve a variety of homemade cakes. There is also the possibility to try "Bergische Kaffeetafel (Bergisch coffee table)" served on traditional historical coffee sets. The Kaffeetafel has to be booked two days in advance! Please send me an e-mail accordingly.
Bergische Kaffeetafel comprises fresh waffles, hot cherries, milk pudding, different kinds of bread, honey, jam, butter, cream cheese, cheese, bacon, pretzels, rusk (zwieback). Total costs per person € 9,90 excl. drinks. Coffee from the traditional coffee pot "Dröppelminna" is charged extra.
To cover our costs for organization we ask for a small contribution of 2,50 € per person payable in cash at the beginning of the tour.
Travel costs: You can use your Düsseldorf Ticket2000 or Ticket1000 plus Zusatzticket (= EUR 6,- return). In order to buy the correct ticket please also check www.vrr.de. Please note that the organizer cannot take over any responsibility for your travel tickets.
Please make sure you arrive at the meeting point on time and have your ticket ready. We will immediately proceed to the platform, as our train leaves at 10:40 h!
