Tell me your funniest experience with Dutch/Flemish speaking people?

As an Afrikaner, I'm "kitchen dutch" - it's always so interesting to hear Dutch being spoken and to try and see how much overlap there is. Somethings translate really well (when spoken slowly) - others ... so different!

I'm from Knysna & CT, South Africa; have lived in the US for about 10 years. I love writing and performing music, art, writing ... love getting together with fellow South Africans and hangin' out, and sharing our culture with my American friends :-)
