Peak with a view (*** difficulty) - GuyE Peak

I have to be back at P & R by 5PM. So, we will go close-by and finish early.

The meetup will appear full for manual control -  add yourself to waiting list, and I'll pull you in depending on fit for mountain/team.  If u have a 4x4, or a high clearance vehicle, and are willing to drive, then pls mention in your RSVP.

1. This is not a technical climb, but a physically demanding hike and scramble

Our t ypical hikes are around 8-10 miles round trip,[masked] feet elevation gain, and mixed terrain scramble to a peak.

2. What to Bring (required list)

Crampons - at the trailhead, we decide whether we need to carry them.
Microspikes
Snowshoes  - at the trailhead, we decide whether we need to carry them.
Ice Axe
Gaiters
Headlamps
Gloves (incl.spare)
Chest Harness
Winter mountaineering boots - This is a alpine scramble, and hence be ready for mixed terrain including snow travel.
Hydration and food
10 Essentials
Essentials to stay outdoors overnight in winter - for emergency use.

3. Time -
keep full day free

4. Slow Hiking speedI go at a  very slow pace. If u are faster, u have to slow down or carry more weight.
5. C arry cash for carpool the group charge $0.50 per mile divided to each occupant.

6. Weather Permitting Destination may change at last minute due to weather or other situations.

    Conditions tomorrow - it is colder than normal.

    It will be cloudy most of the time, but there is a always a chance of being above clouds at Guye.

    Based on direction of wind, we should be shielded from the wind most of the route other than the top.

    Get all the equipment above, and don't forget crampons.

    Narrowing down to GuyE, Washington or Mailbox. Will look at weather tomorrow again and finalize. Conditions are not ideal this weekend - we don't have too many choices- selecting the location with the best weather possible so that we can enjoy the outdoors more ( avoid wind and rain).

    hey hey -me again -no one coming down 1-5 from N. Seattle? or live in CapHill, Central District, Belltown? apparently it is not even possible to make it to P&R by 6am via bus. Next option is taking a cab, but would love to same myself the cab fare.
