For some reason your route looks different than the route I took.

We followed the "standard" approach of taking the logging "road" to its end, which was about 5 miles. Then we were confronted with a open hillside to get up to the ridge saddle between iron and conglomerate. The snow was just impossibly deep and didn't look so safe either.

Nice workout with a good group. Next time will hopefully bring more compact snow - for a greater opportunity to summit, and fewer holes.

A fun day of efficient hiking through myriad obstacles with a great team of athletes. Will try for the summit another time when there is less powder snow to contend with and fall into.

I changed the park and ride to the woodinville one, its easier for me to get to! Also, everyone bring crampons!

I guess no one else likes us! Val's trip 12, us 4? Oh we'll, I guess we will summit....

      Too many stars!

perhaps a defector or 2 once Val picks a location? Estimate of 3700 gain is off if the trailhead at 850 and summit at 5245... also have homemade 2+ (wo)man bivy to "field test" on this adventure.

I was thinking of posting a trip myself, but since you are open to suggestions, how about Iron Mountain? Near index. Lots of forest walking, but it looks like the weather won't be clear anyway.
