FYI for Sunday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming southwest in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. I'm headed to Kaleetan on Saturday instead.

Good to hear Pat... That day I went to both Melakwa lakes to scout the terrain... If you made tracks post them somewhere if you do not mind... Thanks!

Rock scrambles I'm fine with. Would we need a harness?

Never mind! Must have skipped harness while reading the description. And I'm fine with class 3.

You will probably run into the goat we ran into. It scared some of the other hikers. However, we believe it is simply curious and associating people with salt (from peeing on the trail). If it is in your way, just walk around it.

Hi, I am interested. But what are the stats on distance and elevation gain? I looked around myself, but was unable to find.
    Thanks.

It took me 4.5 hours trailhead to summit, including a long stop at Melakwa lake. I don't think you need to start at 430! But don't start at 2pm like I did last time, that wasn't enough time to summit and return before dark.

I agree. Allow for 10 hours and plan to be back for dinner. 7 AM start should be good.

Cathy and I did this one on August 16 and I highly recommend it. We took the ridge line via Point 5700. There are alternate routes possible.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
