Snow Lake Snowshoe

The meetup will appear full for manual control -  add yourself to waiting list, and I'll pull you in depending on fit for mountain/team.

1. This is not a technical climb, but a physically demanding hike and scramble

Our typical hikes are around 8-10 miles round trip,[masked] feet elevation gain, and mixed terrain scramble to a peak.

2. What to Bring (required list)

Headlamps
10 Essentials
Snowshoes required
Microspikes

You must be prepared enough to stay overnight in winter incase of emergency. For a full list of equipment: see

http://www.firstemall.com/epeaks/

3. Time -keep full day free

4.Slow Hiking speed - I go at a  very slow pace - If u are faster, u have to slow down or carry more weight.

5.Carry cash for carpool -the group charge $0.50 per mile divided to each occupant.

6.Weather Permitting - I avoid hiking in the rain, which is difficult to do in this place.

7. Dinner: NA

8. No drifters:

Please sign up if you are going, no drifters please. A pattern of drifting or last minute cancellations will naturally put u on any organizers block list.

Note: Please remember, our organizers are not guides. We are not professional trainers or experts. You are responsible for your own safety and your preparation for the events. You need to be properly equipped for all weather conditions, un-anticipated delays by other participants or for whatever reason, and have the skill level necessary to participate.

Sorry friends- heads-up. I will have to switch this event from a peak scramble to a lighter hike/snowshoe this weekend. Preferably, will go to Source or snow lake if there is enough snow for snowshoe.

I have just recovered after being under-the-weather for the last few days. I'll post the destination in the evening.

PS: if u want to switch to some other hike that is more ambitious/tougher, pls do so.

I'm really hoping to join you all on a peak trip. Not the 16th though, have to be back in Olympia by around 5:30.
I did read about being prepared to spend the night, not having any other obligations to rush on back for...so I'm not asking to join this trip, but I decided to post because I want to lay the groundwork to be ready for a trip that I actually can go on.
I'll do the waiver form, collect my winter gear, etc.
And, if, for some reason, your plans for the 16th change to a less ambitious, more definite day trip, or your destination is closer to Olympia ( Mt Rainier, a Tatoosh, Elinor, etc), I will be ready to go.
Thanks for posting/hosting these great sounding trips.
