Mt Si to Mt. Teneriffe Traverse

We will hike up Mt Si, then follow road and ridgeline to Mt. Teneriffe, then return in a large loop.  This will likely be a 10 mile route.  Please bring your standard 10 essentials, including map and compass, along with rain gear as we might experience a little rain.  Your GPS is not a map and compass.  If weather cooperates we might do a little navigation practice.

Great day outside with friends old and new. The traverse adds a new dimension to an old hike, and opens up more opportunities on other peaks.

Thanks Lance for putting this adventure together. We had always wanted to do the traverse loop. Very challenging too - gps shows 5100 feet and 11 miles. Great day with a fun happy group of Turtles!!

Val, thanks so much for thinking to put me on this list. Did a very similar hike a couple weeks ago though so will head elsewhere for my hiking adventures for today :)

    Kerri and Lance
I just got home to see that I was on for the trip. Since I now have other plans I'm taking myself off. Thanks for the ride offer, Kerri.

Please bring microspikes, in case we run into ice along the top of the ridge or in some of the areas up top that don't get much sunlight.

Will do. Are you expecting much snow?

      May 3, 2014

    • Lance

I'm not expecting much snow, and with the warm weather, probably no ice. However, microspikes are highly recommended.

Is it too late to join in? I was going to do Mailbox on Sunday, but my hiking partner had to cancel.

Great...I'm glad to be onboard. I don't have a discovery pass, but anyone who does is welcome to ride with me the short trip to the trailhead. And if there's any last minute changes...ie less than an hour from the meetup, you can text or call me. [masked]-5055. See Ya'll tomorrow!
