I love adventures and the more opportunities I have to test my boundaries, the better :) I have all the basic mountaineering gear: packs, poles, axe, snowshoes, crampons, tent, sleeping bag, ropes, rock climbing gear, scramble gear.... (a whole big closet full). I'm ready to be roped up, but *only* with a team I trust.
I am comfortable with bushwhacking, scrambles and am working on my rock climbing. Biggest mountain so far, Sahale. Plans for Glacier Peak, Fernow, Maude, 7Fingered Jack, St Helens this year. But, I'm not one of those folks who is stuck on big mountains/alpine climbs. I think skills are better honed on the hundreds of lesser known peaks in our lovely state... I'm working on finding my way to the top of many of them :) I have a long list after 33 years in the Cascades, my first hike at age 1 was Heather Lake ;) I can hike many miles, my longest day hike was 23 miles (in the snow, but not much elevation gain) and my biggest elevation gain day was 7,000 feet and I hiked again the next day :)
I tend not to like travelling. When I have time off I tend to try and spend it in the mountains here... still so many places I haven't seen :) I've lived in SEA my whole life and only speak English.
I know lots of you now :)
“The mountains are calling and I must go.” I am dedicated to optimal fitness so I can reach more destinations, exploring nature to its fullest and staying as safe as is possible while doing so. I hope you are too!
