Easter Egg Hunt

Dakota Woodlands is a shelter for homeless women and families. Our job is to create a fun event for the kids staying at this house. They can decorate their own Easter baskets, then hunt for the treat-filled eggs we have hidden for them. Our prep time is 9:30-10:30, and the kiddos are unleashed at 10:30.

Terese, I still haven't joined EWOT but when we met at Davanni's I mentioned that me and my daughter would come and help. Can we still do that even though I haven't joined EWOT?

Yes, the kids had an awesome time, and that is what is was all about. I am not sure who is in charge of membership, and that person should get back to you within the next several days.

So what time should we be there? 930, 10 or 1030?

Shalle - No need for you to do anything additional. It is all complete. I wish you well with your minister training. Just pray for good weather! This year, as it is every year since we have been holding this event, it is predicted to rain. At least it should not be cold....

OK FOLK! Time to organize. Please confirm to me the people that offered to help are really going to assist and contribute - I heard Kathy had some cutouts, Angie was to handle glue sticks and ribbons, etc. I have already got all eggs, and I just need to buy the candy and fill the eggs. We are also still weak on the decorating committee. Shelly - Did you want to handle that? I have 20 plastic pails in Easter colors for decoration. I have some cute stickers that the kids can put on the pails. Any other ideas? I am planning to but the candy, unless someone would like to seek donations....I am still waiting for a good sale, and hopefully it will come tomorrow!

I can't believe I just saw this today. I am so sorry. You want me to decorate? Sure, am I to meet you somewhere?

Yup, I STUFFED 101 PLASTIC EGGS last night, about 40 large and 60 small. They contain the obligatory marshmallow chocolate cream eggs, along with the Easter varieties of Jelly Beans, Gummi Bears, Kit Kats, Spring Chewy Sprees, Cadbury Malted Milk Balls made to look like robin's eggs, and more Jelly Beans!

I also have some cute Easter stickers to decorate the buckets, with the Buckets themselves. Everyone knows what they are to bring along to help make this the best Easter Party at the Woodlands EVER!

Even though the even start time is 9:30 am, I will be there at 10:00 am to help hide the eggs. Then, we will all go to the great room at promptly 10:30 to decorate the buckets , and after that is done, the Hunt will begin.

I hope to see everyone there!

TODAY I scanned the Sunday ads, and the best deal on Easter candy is at Walmart, plus I have several coupons. Please let me know BEFORE WEDNESDAY if you are able to seek donations. Otherwise, I will be purchasing all the candy. I have buckets, some decoration stickers, and all the eggs for the filling. If anyone wants to be at my house at 6-6:30 to help with the filling of the eggs, please come by! 9113 Cheney Trail, IGH. I will have two dogs (Jazzy, plus Ember!) and any other dogs you choose to bring are welcome! I promise, my dogs will both have fine attitudes and be ready to play!

The children's activities will begin at 10:30 to allow the residents to get dressed. NO PEANUT PRODUCTS WILL BE USED TO AVOID ISSUES! If anyone wants to help me, please do not hesitate to ask. A round number of 20 is what I am working with until I get the final count a week prior to the event. Please just show up to help at that date and time! We need glue sticks and cutouts, and various ribbons, etc. in order to make this work. I will handle the actual purchase of the baskets and candy stuffed eggs.

The glue sticks are for the kids to use, so just a few of them in kid sizes will do, and THANK YOU!

Hi Terese, I can bring ribbon and glue sticks. What size glue sticks? See you on the 12th, Angie
