Picnic and Jazz at Alexis Bailly Vineyard

The vineyard has free jazz concerts on Sunday afternoons, and August 3 features a trumpet duo. Plus a sculpture garden, a picnic area, and wine tastings for $10 or less. This outing is about enjoying a summer day in a lovely setting.

More info about the first vineyard in Minnesota at:
http://www.abvwines.com/index.html

Directions: From Hastings take Highway 61 south 1 mile past town to 170th St. Turn right at 170th and follow the road for 2 miles as it curves to the left onto Kirby Ave. You will see the winery and vineyard on your left.

There is limited seating, so please bring your own lawn chair or picnic blanket. Plus a dish to share for the picnic. Plates, napkins, and silverware - I will provide those.

Yes, and I even sent out a Facebook notice of this place. It was really relaxing, quaint, awesome and great place to spend a Sunday afternoon. I will dress up, next time!

CUMBERLAND, WI - That is the name of the town I was talking about. The talk turned to the subject of where we were all from. Going over there to see family.

Great venue! Shady, not overcrowded, and the band played one of my favorites. Cannonball Adderley Sextet- Work Song: http://youtu.be/VBxAC4ywaJ4

So glad everyone enjoyed the afternoon. We had some good eats. Barb brought some very interesting fudge w / bacon in it! And some delicious cheese too Terese'"s sandwiches were a hit that we all enjoyed. This is one of my favorite places to enjoy a few hours of music, Sunshine and sharing.

I hope you do this again in the fall. There are just times that you have to forego what you WANT to do for what you NEED to do.

It was quite delightful and enjoyable. Did you realize that it got to 88 degrees? Damn, no wonder I was sweating! Let's do this again, but perhaps in the fall....

DARN! You all are going to miss out, big time! OK, I have never been before, but if I am going, you know it will be great! We will have enough fun for everyone who could not make it. Hee Hee!

I was really looking forward to this, but just have too many things I need to get done today. Have fun.

Just make sure you don't wear your spurs. I am wearing a hat, too, but not a cowhand model!

  • Barb K.

I will be wearing a cowboy (cowgirl?) hat so our group is easier to spot.

Paula~ the music goes until 4:30. It is hard to say when we will feel "complete", so to say, with wine, music, sunshine, and each other:) If you don't get to share in this event, there will be others. Enjoy your day.

I'm disappointed to say I may not be able to make this. If I can I will call tomorrow to see if I can still catch a ride. What time to you think you will be coming back?

  • Terese Ann F.

OOPS! And by the way, Maureen is bringing brownies and something else I forgot, and I have sandwiches from Tinucci's coming tomorrow am, and anything else anyone wants to share. Yay!

Maureen is coming to my house at 9113 Cheney Trail in IGH, and then we will proceed together. Are there any other takers for the car pool???

The winery also has chilled bottles of wine for sale. Great for sharing, and wine by the glass as well.

And I can also carpool at Caribou by my house, so if you need a ride, let me know!

Carpooling makes a lot of sense! I will be driving from Rosemount, so the Eagan folks can meet Terese in Inver Grove Heights, and I can carpool from the Caribou Coffee by the Cub Foods off of Hwy 42 in Rosemount.

Let me know if anyone is interested in carpooling. My house is probably the closest...

It is just a short little jaunt to my place, so YES, there is no reason for me not to go!
