New Year's Eve Scrabble Up and Potluck!

Hi Everyone,

Since we are planning to be home on New Year's Eve, we thought we'd continue our tradition of having a Scrabble Up and potluck to ring in the New Year! Last year's was great and we thought we'd do it again!

Everyone can bring a dish to share (side or dessert), though we will make a main dish (not sure what just yet). We'll provide bottled water and soda, along with the Martinelli's (non-alcoholic) toast at Midnight. We'll play some group Pictionary, Scattegories, and of course, lots of Scrabble!! Should be alot of fun.

We'll start between 5-6pm. Let us know if you can make it. As a reminder, we are a non-alcoholic household and appreciate everyone observing that.

Also, just to clarify, the meet up will be on a Monday night - Whoo Hooo!!

Had a wonderful time at my 2nd New Years PARTY1 was able to stay thru till the end this time. Thanks for the party hats and blowers and especially the poppers that we took outside, had some other party goers at the end of the block enjoying theirselves as well WAS A BASH. MANY THANKS TO OUR GREAT HOSTS FOR A WONDERFUL TIME AS USUAL : )

I had a fun time as always. Dawn and Alec are always such great hosts. Tonight marked my two year anniversary playing with this group. I'm so glad I found you on meetup. I've made friends with some really nice people. I'm happy to be a part of this group.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the East County Scrabble Meet Up! Alec and I host the meet ups at our home in Santee. We usually try to hold them once month (sometimes more) and announce the dates in advance so everyone has time to plan. We love Scrabble and enjoy playing with others......it's a friendly meet up so there's no cut throat playing here! We have all levels of players and we do allow use of "cheat sheets", Scrabble dictionaries, and helping each other out (but those are all your choice to use or not). However, we do have a few more serious players who like to play challenge games and those are always available too. It's all about playing a game we all love and having fun socializing in the mean time. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, please join our group and come out to an event. We'd love to have you!

Instead of charging a fee to help offset the organizer fees, we just ask that everyone bring some type of snack to share, albeit chips, desserts, whatever..... (with the exception of alcohol - we have kids and would like that left at home) and bring a board if you have one!! We usually need them!

As a general policy, we don't allow members to bring children to the meet ups. However, we do have a few special occasions during the year that we ask you to bring them, such as our Scrabble Anniversary BBQ and New Year's Eve Meet up.

Last but not least, we do have pets that are out of the way for the event, but in case you have allergies, you might want to check with us. We haven't had a problem yet, but as a precaution, we wanted to let you know.

P.S. You might notice that our meet ups are full, or fill up quickly when they are announced. That does not mean you won't get in. People RSVP far in advance and plans change which opens up spots to come. We've had very long waitlists and everyone has gotten in, so don't let that scare you away! If we are full, please add your name to the waitlist!
