Note: Change of Meetup location in the morning. We are now meeting at NORTHGATE TRANSIT CENTER. Park in the JC Penny or near parking lot. 9am is the new time.
It’s much less expensive to stick with Metro in King County than to do both Snohomish and King County. It is $4.50 total fare for the day versus $18.
For those joining us later, you can take the same bus route from Northgate, you can find parking at the Seattle Center or any of the venues we are visiting and catch up with us. Call my number to get an exact ETA when you arrive.
Note: You can opt in or out of as many activities as you want. Feel free to pick and choose what you want to participate in. There are a few people that are going to do the free events & lunch only. They will walk around and rejoin us when we are done. Please feel free to leave and join us as it works for you.
Metro is $2.25 in Seattle per ride. Ask for a transfer and it will be King County (CASH) Ask for bus Transfer. YOU WILL NEED EXACT CHANGE. I will bring quarters to make change but it helps if everyone is prepared In advance. The transfer is good for 1.5 to 2 hours. Total $4.50 for the day unless we miss the transfer times, then it will be a total of $6.75. Still cheaper than gas, parking and wear and tear on our cars.
START: Meet 9 AM or earlier @ Northgate Transit Center (Northgate Mall) due north of the mall (JC Penney side). Bus leaves at 9:18am. Please give yourself plenty of time to park and find the terminal.
#16 Bus: Downtown to Freemont to see the (Troll) to upper Freemont. We will get dropped off at the on-ramp to Aurora Ave North at North 38th street. Walk along same route as bus leaves and go down the stairwell to the troll. Bus arrives at appx. 10am.
#32 Bus or #16: Go down the hill to Troll Ave & 35th St. Corner bus stop to Seattle Center to 2901 Western Ave (Olympic Sculpture Park). One hour tour. Meet in area located for tours at the corner of Western & Broad a few minutes before noon. Varies what they talk about. Ask questions if you want. Sculptures & landscape and a brief history about the park. Free. From: 12 to 1PM. We have about an hour to get something to drink and munch on before riding the ducks
#WALK: Head Northeast on Broad Street towards Western Ave. Broad & 5th Ave North (Ride the Ducks). They have tours every 20 minutes. It’s best to do the group thing ahead but we will have to take our chances. Maybe we can book on the bus that morning. 1:40pm or 2pm will be our best options. It’s $30.66 per adult. Groups of 10 or more are $27.38 per person. So if everyone brings enough cash, I can call that morning and get a group rate. Tours are 90 minutes. To book call:[masked]-3825. 36 people per duck. Finish at the latest 3:30pm.
#99 Bus: Catch the bus at 5th and Broad. Goes to Alaskan Way and University Street. (Ferris Wheel). Walk towards the pier. The Ferris wheel loads up to six people at a time. It does one loading round. It turns for 3 continuous cycles before unloading. It’s $14.89 per adult. Finish at appx. 4:30pm.
#WALK: Head to 94 Columbia Street (Mae Phim). Dinner should finish by 5:30pm. Keep in mind you can leave or arrive at any point in the Urban Hike and head back to Northgate or your car.
BUS #41: Walk east on Columbia to Transit Tunnel which runs under 3rd Ave. Walk up to 3rd. Pioneer Square Station. 3rd & Columbia. Walk across 3rd Ave and a block south. Cherry Street you will see the entrance to the Pioneer Station. Bay letter “A”. Take you back to Northgate transit center. Should arrive back at Northgate by 7pm at the latest.
Dancing at the Tulalip Casino: The Spazmatics are playing at 9:30pm. $10 to get in. Save $5 with the rewards card. Be sure and get your rewards card inside casino – it’s free!More info: http://www.tulalipcasino.com/entertainment/shows/
If you do everything you will need to bring enough cash. It’s easier to work with cash than credit cards, but that is an option. Total cost for the day is about $50 not including the Casino, food or drinks.
