Train with Charlie Series - Around South Mountain

This is a training ride with Charlie Gerhardt in preparation for the Ride The Vortex for the National MS Society. Charlie is great at keeping the group managed. If you have not been riding much or are new, be sure you can hang for 45-50 miles. There is no obligation to register for anything.

Here is the link if you are interested in the MS ride in Sedona.

https://secure3.convio.net/nmss/site/SPageServer?pagename=BIKE_AZA_homepage

Route is 45-50 miles--The group will stop at the gas station on 51st Avenue to refill bottles and use comfort station.

Charlie is a great ride leader and a good teacher. His routes and rides rock.

Bring two water bottles and or a camelback. The temperatures are still comfortable but are starting to rise. Remember, one bottle per hour, for proper hydration.

Bring nutrition and a smile, dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather.

Helmets are required for this ride. No lid, no ride, no exceptions. Road bikes highly recommended, unless you're Superman.

Great group ride, Charlie. A million thanks Sandy for all your help. It looks like my Easton wheelset is salvageable. Special thanks to my buddy Larry for getting me home. Next stop is Performance to get my rear wheel trued.
