This past summer I went on a quest to find a locally grown, organic, seeded watermelon that tasted like a watermelon – something unlike those seedless, woody, flavourless facsimiles that they’ve been passing off as watermelons for the last I-don’t-know-how-many years. Never did find that watermelon, but learned a lot about the difficulties of finding organic farmers’ markets and local produce in the process. Am resuming my quest next summer, doing it earlier and increasing the search ring. Plan to explore the Guelph farming area and Mennonite farms.
My area of work is antithetical to my interests, but I would gladly share the results of my buying local "research".
Sorry, don't have such a list in my head, do I still qualify? Am looking to socialize with like-minded people?

I'm 'new' to Oakville, been here 8 years, an escapee from Toronto, where I was born (inner city kid that never even went to camp). I like Oakville and west because it’s that little bit quieter, greener, cleaner – and close to the Niagara Escarpment.
Great group, Danielle organizes so well. Thank you!
