GROUPWORKS DECK: A PATTERN LANGUAGE FOR GROUP PROCESS
BAY AREA METHOD-MAPPING WORKSHOP
Do you regularly lead small groups at work or in your community life?
Do you use or know about specific methods, such as Dynamic Facilitation, Scenario Planning, Appreciative Inquiry, Open Space, or others?
Does the idea of having creating a shared vocabulary for healthy thriving group dynamics appeal to you?
Friday Feb. 22, join us in using the Group Works Deck to "map" out group tools and methods using the 91 patterns in the deck (and new ones you can create).
If you're new to facilitation or haven't experienced the Group Works Deck yet, please come to the larger open event on Saturday Feb. 23, also in Berkeley.
The first Method-Mapping workshop was held in Seattle last fall, as part of the National Coalition on Dialog and Deliberation's (NCDD) 2012 Conference. EBCOHO is hosting the 2nd Method Mapping session for the Bay Area. Lead facilitator will be OD Professor at Antioch University: Sue Woehrlin, assisted as needed by Kate Sassoon (of Berkeley-based Sassy Facilitation) & Tree Bressen (founder of the Group Works Project, from Eugene, Oregon).
Schedule
3:45pm Arrival/Doors Open
4-6pm Introduction & Session #1
6-7pm Potluck Supper
7-9pm Session #2 & Wrap-up
Join us at the East Bay Cohousing clubhouse at the Long Haul Infoshop on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley -- just 2 blocks east of Ashby BART, across the street from LaPena and Starry Plough).
Participants can attend either session or both as schedule permits, with a potluck meal & socializing in the middle. To participate in any of Friday's event, please RSVP here at EBCOHO. The event is free, but donations to the nonprofit Group Pattern Language Project will be gratefully accepted.
I'm sorry I cannot participate. Over 20 years ago I had a facilitation coaching practice called GroupWorks and have been curious about the Group Works methodology. I continue to serve people with facilitation and coaching, as well as teaching it, at http://www.barbarachan.com
(Strategic Visioning, Participatory Decision-making, Open Space, TOP, World Cafe). Looking forward to hearing about the weekend!

Hi Raines,
This is very exciting. I'll be there.
I hope it can lead to an ongoing East Bay Organizers Forum.
