Bay Area Community Exchange gathering

This is not a cohousing-specific meeting, but it covers areas frequently discussed in cohousing: time banking / labor exchange, progressive values, group decision making, and online collaboration. We're hosting a future gathering of this group at the EBCOHO clubhouse in downtown Berkeley in part to explore where the connections are between this group and our movement. -- Raines

The Bay Area Community Exchange imagines a Bay Area that creates and uses complementary currencies and other means of exchange to support the progressive values of the people in the Bay Area. Further, we hope to raise consciousness about the ways in which established money and exchange systems undermine these values. General Schedule 6:30 - 7:00 PM Informal socializing (bring snacks / light food to share) 7:00 - 9:00 PM General meeting Notes: The agenda has yet to be set, and our meetings have tended to go a longer than the designated ending times. Likely topics to be explored include:

  • Time banking

  • Decision-making process

  • Online-technologies for collaboration and support

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
