The National Cohousing Conference was back in the Bay Area in mid-June. Art of Community is coming in September. Whether you were there or not, and whether or not you are planning to be a part of the upcoming conference, please join us for a look back and a look forward, sharing what we learned and next steps/opportunities. Free for EBCOHO Supporting Members and participants at the cohousing conference. Note New Date: Sun 19th not Sat the 11th.

The cohousing conference featured three days of workshops and networking, meals, exhibits, and fun in Downtown Oakland, across the street from Swan's Market Cohousing. Over 300 cohousing developers, consultants, founders, funders, seekers, and residents shared the secrets of successful sustainable community from all over the country and the world.
On the weekend of Sept. 21-23, Art of Community is once again being hosted in the beautiful coastal redwoods of Occidental, CA. A unique conference experience, AoC offers a wealth of opportunities for building and practicing skills of a cooperative culture and for sharing ideas and knowledge about creating and living in intentional communities.

Inspiring people to purposefully engage in place-making is central to this year’s AoC vision. Featured speaker Mark Lakeman of City Repair Project in Portland, Oregon will share wisdom and stories about his involvement in strengthening one’s sense of community via projects which connect people to place. For 15 years City Repair has worked to transform Portland neighborhoods in accordance with locally cultivated vision of creativity, community, and sustainability.
A wide range of talented and inspiring facilitators gather to offer workshops in good group process skills such as conflict resolution and decision making models, cooperative games, cooperative land ownership, regional community organizing, and much more. I just want to make sure that everybody RSVPing got the word: this is NOT today Saturday, it is now next Sunday morning.

Kristina, you're not alone; this was scheduled earlier and intended to postpone when the automatic notice went out in the middle of the night. We've adjusted the date to next Sunday the 19th rather than Saturday the 11th.

I would have liked to attend but it's too short of notice for me. Would request and appreciate receiving notice a week or two in advance if you do it again.
