Introduction

I am interested in learning more about the range of co-ops, cohousing and intentional communities in the East Bay.

How did you hear about East Bay Cohousing?

From many sources...I heard about Addison St. from Natalie Leonard at Parker St…Parker St. from Fairview House residents, Adam Chew (my former housemate) & Ian Winters and Fairview House from Ashley Foster, a former resident, also Craig's List...

What does Cohousing mean to you?

Cohousing means to me an intentional community that creates/sustains affordable housing for long-term security through mutual intentions & shared skills/resources plus conscious, respectful dialogue that includes a process for conflict resolution.

What's most likely: Rent, Buy, Share, Build, Co-create?

Any of the above, depending on the circumstances. I am curious about the North Oakland and Downtown Oakland communities that are searching/forming, as I am fond of my current neighborhood!

Where are you most interested in living?

I love North Oakland, but Berkeley/Eville/Alameda ok if the right fit. Ideally: close to BART, with outdoor space and a shared garden, as an artist I need some studio & storage space, ideally...would consider many different options.

  • Nice meeting you too, Emily! Well, I joined lots of groups though I don't go to all of them. I don't know which group you're talking about but I guess maybe the other Korean group, SF Asian professional or 3o+ ? =p
