How did you hear about East Bay Cohousing?

Through ads in the East Bay Express

What does Cohousing mean to you?

Something in between a shared roof and an independent roof. I think it means a smaller independent place built close to others in the same co-housing community. Reducing resource use is part of it as well I believe.

What's most likely: Rent, Buy, Share, Build, Co-create?

For now: rent--have decent earnings, but not money set aside to buy and not handy with a hammer! 10 years away from retirement, but not sure where I want to do that. I have strong skills and experience in Biointensive gardening.

Where are you most interested in living?

In the Oakland or Berkeley hills, or withing walking distance of BART. I would also live in the flatlands if there is large garden space for vegetable gardening, fruit trees etc.

Introduction

This seems like a different angle on urban living; maybe I will find a niche sooner, while doing the "J-O-B",or later, upon retirement, to live somewhere that I could do some serious food gardening and share the bounty?
