Introduction

I've been interested in cohousing for years and had the pleasure of living at Doyle St. Cohousing for 6 months this year. I know cohousing is in my future! For now, I'm sharing a house in the Maxwell Park area of Oakland.

How did you hear about East Bay Cohousing?

I met Raines and Betsy at the National Cohousing Conference in Boulder.

What does Cohousing mean to you?

connecting with neighbors, sharing more and buying less, growing food, eating and cooking meals together, spontaneous opportunities for conversations, playing a board game working a jigsaw puzzle together, learning new skills, giving and receiving help, when needed

What's most likely: Rent, Buy, Share, Build, Co-create?

Renting, Co-creating, Buying...

Where are you most interested in living?

Oakland or Emeryville

Additional Information

"We are going to develop a vegetable garden in our large back yard. If you live near Maxwell Park and want to join us in caring for the garden, you will have organic vegetables to enjoy in all seasons."

  • Hi Susan! I will make extra room so that you can be included in the event. One extra person won't be a problem! :) My husband recently bought a book of cocktails too. We have tried out 2 so far. If you'd like to bring your book along, I know he'd love to see it. And please bookmark any that you like. :)

  • Hi Susan-
I hadn't seen your message! I haven't found a cohousing community yet. Do you have some leads in mind?
    Cheers,
    Claudia

Hi Claudia. Are you going to the cohousing conference in Oakland? I haven't been to the last few SF cohousing meetings and don't know if you've been to any either. Have you found a cohousing community yet?

  • Hi Susan, It would be wonderful if you were able to host November's Second Act! The last meeting we had 17 people and the one before 19, so you don't have to worry about 40+ people showing up at your door. On average only 2 out of 3 people who say they're coming actually do. Let me know what you think. Warmly, Whitney

  • Susan,
I can't make it tonight. I do want to be in touch, and seem to have lost your phone #. Could you email me, [masked] and or call at [masked]. If you send me your phone # and email, then I will have them and we can be in touch.
    Love,
    Deborah

  • Hi, Susan. I live in Novato and just returned from a trip to Chicago yesterday. We had great weather and the city looked amazingly beautiful. I hadn't been to Millenium Park, and it is such a wonderful place for the city. I look forward to meeting you soon.
