FREE Choral Concert

• This is a FREE Lenten Vespers Concert.

• Think Bach, Brahms, Mozart, etc

Enjoy choruses and arias from oratorios, cantatas,
Requiems, and other monumental choral works, sung by
the Cathedral Choir, with choirs from All Saints Episcopal
Church, Winter Park, and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church,
College Park.

There will be an opening prayer and a few readings, but basically this is a choral concert of works by the great masters, not a mass. There will be no sermon, no eucharist/communion.  Here is the program:

Kyrie – Louis Vierne (Messe Solenelle)

God So Loved the World
– John Stainer (Crucifixion)

Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs
– GF Handel (Messiah)

Lacrymosa – WA Mozart (Requiem)

Rest Well – JS Bach (St. John Passion)

Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring – JS Bach

Libera me – Gabriel Faure (Requiem)

Hear My Prayer – Felix Mendelssohn

How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place
– Johannes Brahms (German Requiem)

Love Bade Me Welcome – Ralph Vaughan Williams

Blessed Be the God and Father – SS Wesley

I checked, and ALL of these great, classical standards can be heard on youtube.com if you wish to get a sense of what type of music will be presented.

Tom, your host will be wearing a bright blue, long sleeved dress shirt and will stand near the entrance from 3:35 until 3:45 when we will enter and sit together. I will also wear a badge saying, "Tom, Meetup Group." Early arrival assures good seats.. If you arrive late, look for my bright blue shirt. This concert features open, free seating.

There is NO charge for this event, but freewill offerings are gladly accepted to help support future musical presentations.
