Let's go Deutsch!

Bauern-Stube is a hole-in-the-wall filled with great German food. It's got eccentric decor, eccentric staff, and outstanding rotkohl. Don't forget your Gemütlichkeit!

There seems to be a problem with their web site, but you can probably find the menu by starting at <http://bauern-stube.com>.

Good food and good company. Oh, and those photographs somebody posted are of a different restaurant; don't know where and don't know how to take them down.

This was the first place I ever had sauerbraten and I have been in love ever since. For anyone who has not been there, this owner (if it's the same one) can really up-sell. I mean Really. Have been looking forward to this since I signed up!

You ain't kidding about the upselling. They really try to push additional sides on you and desert. I also didn't like that after adding a mandatory 15% tip they encourage you to tip even further, and keep asking whether or not you need change.

Maybe they're farming the herring :-) lol. I wonder how deep you plant them and what is the optimum spacing. Smiles. Or maybe Herring is German for some type of noodeln. Come on all lighten up and have a laugh. :-)
