What a fantastic trip! Had a great time getting to know people and their journeys. A special thanks to all the organizers who took care of all the details. I think somebody may have scheduled the rainstorm about 3 hours too early though. :)

    • Naomi C.

Yes, but if that rain hadn't came through we may not have all been huddled at the table with coffee and started the amazing conversation about enlightenment vs world government. ;-) but I agree, thank you to all the organizers! Can't wait for the next one!

Great seeing everyone! A great time was had by all on the trip despite the rain Sunday morning. Unfortunately our tent leaked so Julio and I had to leave a little early. Anyone who still owes money for the campsite ($11 per person), can pay online using credit card or paypal here's the link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=5A9XHC26LH7A8

or you can send me a check (address below) or just pay me at next meetup. Thanks!

If anyone owes Ron money for breakfast ($3.00 per person) please get that to him at the next meetup as well.

Lisa, sorry we didn't get to say bye...I heard you guys packing up in the rain. Hope you guys didn't get too wet. :-) I had such a great time! All of you are amazing individuals!

Is there anything or anyone else we can contribute towards the food?

      December 15, 2013

    • Lisa F.

Yes sorry we didn't get to say bye. Hopefully we'll see you at another meetup soon, it was great to meet you!

Hi guys, Here are some updates and changes for the meals and activity plans.
    1. Ron's Breakfast will be served on Sunday instead of Saturday.
    2. We will do a Chinese Auction on Friday night, so please bring a gift if you would like to participate.
    3. Option for Saturday day activity - 4 hour canoe/kayak trip with lunch break. The trip is all downstream along Rock Springs Run and ends at the Wekiva River. No, guarantees, but Ted has seen deer, turtles, otters, gators and a variety of water birds. Definitely camera worthy. It is a beautiful trip. Costs are: $30 for a canoe (holding 2 people), $40 for a single person kayak, $50 for a 2 person kayak. You just pay first come, first serve and off you go. They will pick us up at the end and transport people and canoes back to our cars at the start point. The participants will leave the camp site around 9 am on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

We are bringing an extra tent and we need something to blow up a mattress. The thing we have doesn't take a charge or we have the wrong adaptor.

So it looks like Jean and her +1 are not going to be able to make it, and Kirsten and Sam are coming for Sat night only, so here's the revised assignments as I understand them: Space 26 - Tent 1 - Lisa, Julio, Michelle, Jason, Esther
Space 26 - Tent 2 - Either Naomi or Kirsten and Sam in Judy's extra tent

    Space 25 - Camper 1 - Judy and Tom in a camper

Space 24 - Tent 1 - Garth, Hiromi, Naomi or Kirsten and Sam
    Space 24 - Tent 2 - Ron & son, Parag

Lisa, do you know about getting into the campground after 11pm. I'm trying to get out if work tomorrow night. I might not be able to join you guys until midnight or Saturday morning. :-(

    • Lisa F.

You can get in late if you need to, there is a code that you use to get in the gate. They will give it to us tomorrow when we check in, if you send me your phone number I can text it to you when I get it.

    Hi all,
Thanks Lisa and Hiromi for all your work to make this coming weekend a fun event.
    1. I have a 3 person tent to loan. If anyone would like to use it let Tom or I know.
    2. Would everyone like to do a Chinese auction?
If you have never done one it is a hoot. If you have never played here is how it goes.
Everyone must bring a wrapped gift BUT...it should NOT be new and should be something you want to part with. It can be nice or funny or junk wrapped to create suspense. Then we draw numbers to determine the order in which we pick a gift. The "picker" then decides if he/she will pick from new gifts or take one of the opened gifts from someone else. A gift can only be "retaken" up to three times. There are always gifts people fight over or try to get rid of. It would make a good fireside activity with lots of laughs in the Christmas spirit.
If interested let Hiromi and the group know so we can bring a gift.
At last count there are 15 coming?
    See you all on Friday......Judy

Was thinking of bringing my 10x10 dining fly. If the food captains already have this covered (no pun intended. Lol) let me know. :-)

Victoria has cancelled which leaves a total of 15 participants. It looks like it will probably be approximately $17 - $20 per person camping including the 3 group meals. I am going to bring some firewood and Esther is bringing some but the more the better so if anyone else can plan on bringing some firewood it will be helpful. We can have only two cars parked at each campsite, additional cars can park in the campground overflow parking. Looks like we have some great activities planned! Looking forward to it. See you all there!

      I'll bring some firewood.

    Hi guys,
Here are some meals and activities for the camping. We will bring water, but please bring your own drink if you'd like to have soft drinks, beer or wine. Also, Sunday breakfast will be on your own. Each meal leader needs 2 or 3 assistants. If you have meal restrictions, please let me know. These activities are suggestions, so if you have other ideas, don't hesitate to contact me at [masked] or[masked]-5626. See you at the camp!

Friday night - Pizza party (coming from Parag's new pizza restaurant.)

Camp fire, games and dessert (Smores) time! Yoga and morning meditation Saturday breakfast - Ron is making delicious breakfast.

    Saturday lunch - Sandwiches (Hiromi)

Group hiking or kayaking (Kayak rental available)

Saturday night - Homemade Chili (Judy is making her famous Chili.)

Camp fire, games and dessert (Smores) time! Sunday breakfast - bring your breakfast.

Morning meditation and reading of stillness speaks.

Clean up and see you later.

    Thanks,
    Hiromi

Just as an FYI, the campsite water source IS spring water. I suppose if you feel more comfortable with bringing your own, just thought I'd share that it's quite tasty. :-)

Thank you so much first of all to Lisa and everyone contributing to organize this camping trip. Please let me know if I can help in any way, I will be there Friday and Saturday morning for sure. Thank you.

OK we are still in the process of trying to figure out the camping arrangements. I have not yet heard from Victoria or Jean yet, so let me know if you have a tent or need a space, there is still some tent space available if you need it. Here's what I have so far: Space 26 - Tent 1 - Lisa, Julio, Michelle, Jason, Esther
    Space 26 - Tent 2 - Open (Jean + 1?) Space 25 - Camper 1 - Judy and Tom in a camper
    Space 25 - Tent 2 - Open (Victoria?)

    Space 24 - Tent 1 - Garth, Hiromi, Naomi
    Space 24 - Tent 2 - Ron & son, Parag

Meals (got this from Hiromi): Judy and Parag are dinner leaders, not sure for which nights.
Ron is Saturday breakfast man. Hiromi may do lunch and dessert. Will post changes as I hear them. Lisa

Hello All, We need to coordinate arrangements for the camping trip, so can all attendees please let me know the following: 1. Do you have a tent to sleep in?
    2. If so, are you able to fit extra people in it and how many?
    3. If you have reserved your own camping space, let me know.

You can reply here or else email me at [masked]. Thanks!

We pay half price for a campsite at Wekiva.

I wonder if we can get our own site on the same nites?

    November 7, 2013

  • Lisa F.

Wekiva Springs state park is a great place to camp! They do have a policy that there are only two cars allowed per space and two tents. We have three spaces reserved so currently about 24 people can potentially camp there, but we may need to coordinate a little bit. My tent can sleep at least two possibly up to four more people. Hiromi and Garth may also have space in their tent. If you need to, people can park cars at my house (I live only a couple miles from the park) and someone can bring you over.
