Nature Walk in Fullersburg Woods

Let's hike at Fullersburg Woods!

It's a bit selfish of me doing the same hike again but since I could not do it last time and since the park is really lovely I hope you will join me again!

It's a relatively short hike (between 2 and 3 miles) and we will be going in a relaxed manner to enjoy the surroundings. However, we may take some additional small routes if we are still in a mood.

The walk will be a perfect place to connect with nature, as well as to socialize, discuss "green" topics, and make new like-minded friends!

This event is a joint event with Chicago Hiking, Outdoors, and Social Group so expect more good people join us for the hike!

Direction: Turn to the main entrance to the park from Spring Rd. Park your car on the parking lot by the Visitor Center. We will be gathering right behind the Visitor Center by the river. The picture above is showing where exactly we will be meeting.

Special notice: This is an outside event that subject to a weather conditions. An message will be posted on the event page if it will be canceled, otherwise we will be meeting as it planned. Please check your email or the event page, if doubt, before arriving.

Also, some of us will come earlier for Sunday Morning Tai-Chi Practice. Here is more info:

Please use "Comments" area in the bottom of the event page to offer/ask for rides and post any general questions or comments.

I currently don't see how I can change my RSVP. I have a family event I have to attend tomorrow and can not go. Next time - it sounds very interesting. Thanks

Same response as the last time this walk was scheduled -- still no car and still no way to get there. Maybe the next time a walk is scheduled that is accessible by public transportation I will be able to attend.

Audrey, if you are able to come to Oak Park via public transport (Blue or Green lines), I'm happy to take you the rest of the way.

Sorry for all the dog lovers I have offended.
    I apologize!
I really did not mean to, I was strictly thinking of how terrified my daugher is... and yes, there are going to be other people there with dogs, so how could I possibly make such request?

Maria - There two solutions depending on how much you would like to avoid dogs:
      1. Join us for another walk (i.e. Layman Woods where dogs are not allowed) so you would not encounter them regardless if they part of our walk or not.
      2. We can ask dog owners to keep their dogs as much away from your daughter as possible. I can make a request for people with pets to be in the end of our walk and ask you to be upfront. Unless you may decide to take this as an opportunity to help your daughter to dissolve her fear of dogs (assuming that a dog owner might be willing to assist you with it).
