Grouse Mountain Snowshoe Grind

I've never done this before but have heard its fun - come and give it a try with me! Remember that you'll need a Grouse Mountain pass to ride up and back down the Skyride, or if not, a single adult return trip cost is $39.95 (yet only $99 for an annual pass - a very good deal!)

The following description is taken from the Grouse Mountain website:

The Snowshoe Grind

Grouse Mountain has translated the intensity and accomplishment of the Grouse Grind into a winter experience – the Snowshoe Grind. Located mountaintop, the Snowshoe Grind promises to challenge. Starting at the relocated Grouse Grind timer, outside the Chalet adjacent the Skyride ramp and just southwest of the skate pond, the Snowshoe Grind is the perfect way to start Grouse Grind hiking season fit and strong, while embracing a snowy winter landscape.

Steep + fun, and a great way to spend time with everyone else in the group. Almost too steep.

A Winter Wonderland for sure. Now I'm sitting here after a hot shower and the sun has come out! Great day, thank you.

I bought 1 year pass last month and noticed it includes 1 free snowshoe rental. Any chance for starting like 11am or 1pm?

Last year I went on the snowshoe grind a couple times before it opened. As far as I know no one will stop you from hiking it they just let you know that you do so at your own risk as it is not patrolled for safety. Last winter the winter markers were up at least a couple weeks before the official opening (and removal of the closed signs).

Just wondering if we have a back-up plan if the Snowshoe Grind hasn't opened by Friday? Though, looking at the forecast, it looks like there will be some snow later in the week.

Hi Heidi, I am hoping the grind or dam mtn will be open by Friday but if not, there are two SS trails that are open and we can explore them. See you Friday!
