Announcing a new Meetup for Vancouver Chapter - Ecospirit Adventure Club!

What: Squamish Mountain Biking, Alice Lake- Beginner to Intermediate

When: Sunday, October 17,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Alice Lake - 4 Lakes Trail Head
Alice Lake Provincial Park
Squamish, BC V0N 1H0

Pace: Relaxed, this is a social ride.
Technical Difficulty: Easier to Intermediate. Mostly smooth trails with some small root and rock obstacles (under 3"). Gentle elevation gain, all hills are mostly ride able for INTERMEDIATE bikers.

Duration: 6 hours. (2 hours driving, 2-3 hours riding, 1 hour lunch)

Rendezvous:
223 Mountain Highway, North Vancouver, BC.
I have room for 2 other people and bikes. Let me know if you need a ride, first come first serve. We plan to leave the parking area at 9am sharp. Get there by 8:45 if you are carpooling with me so we can load bikes. Call me if you are running late, we are willing to wait, but only if we know you are on route. **If you change your mind about attending... sign out of the event.

Description:
We will start with the Four Lakes Trail. It is open to mountain bikes in the off season, it is a smooth, undulating pathway in the Alice Lake area, comparable to Stanley Park trails. From there we will hit Dead End Loop to add a few roots and rocks into the mix before climbing up to Rob and Cliff's Corners. The Corners are fun twisty and turny but suitable for anyone. From the corners we will hit Don't Tell Jude, a short technical (INTERMEDIATE) trail with a number of bridges, boardwalks and stunts. This section will push the boundaries of beginner riders without being dangerous. Most of the boardwalks are only a few inches off the ground and any larger stunt can be ridden or walked around.

At this point we will do a time check before continuing on to either Mashiter/Roller Coaster/Jacks Trail or Mini Tracks/Mikes Loop and the roadway back to the parking lot.

**We may work a split the last segment of this ride if we have some more advanced riders attend, sending them down Credit Line (ADVANCED) to Jacks while the rest of us do Mashiter/Roller Coaster (EASIER / INTERMEDIATE). That option will be decided at the time check and only if we have people who have done both options before in each respective group.

Is this event for you?
This ride is well suited to BEGINNER riders looking to progress their skills within a relaxed and social group, INTERMEDIATE riders looking for a balanced ride and ADVANCED riders who are patient with a slower group speed and willing to assist newer riders as they work to develop their skills on a specific trail feature.
