Would you be TOTALLY excited to see water-guzzling, pollution-producing, "seen-and-not-touched" lawns, replaced by edible gardens and drought-tolerant native plant landscaping? Do you believe, like I do, that if one or two of those GIANT homes in upscale neighborhoods (or tiny homes in the flats) were to replace most of their front and back lawns with gorgeously eco-scaped edible gardens, other neighbors would follow suit...? Especially if there was a massive PR campaign highlighting the transformations?!
My focus is on "righting the environmental wrongs" of my and previous generations. I'm currently organizing a movement on the Peninsula between San Francisco and San Jose to replace ornamental landscaping with edible landscaping, promoting organic gardening and training the unemployed to test, detoxify and enrich soil, re-establish native plants and use the land we live on to nourish us. I'm working with a number of nonprofit organizations and a growing number of volunteers who want to make this happen. This is my passion!
If you are idealistic, and think you understand what makes human beings "tick," and have ideas you'd like to share to cleverly motivate and inspirationally "light the fire" under homeowners to "go green" in their gardens, let's get together and brainstorm!
