“ One of the best things I've ever done was to join the Humanist Society of Scotland. I now know that I have been a humanist for all of my life and it's just another of many questions answered. “ The HSS is excellent if you want to think about and discuss a wide range of issues from philosophy and ethics to public policy and activism without reverance (or even respect) for religious dogma or supernatural beliefs. For me Humanism is about recognising that Human beings have the responsibility for creating value and purpose in their own lives and communities and the world at large. Members of the HSS seem to take that responsibility seriously. They often hold strong and differing opinions about how to do that and I find that diversity very healthy. ”
— Julian A. on Nov 3, 2010.

“ The HSS-EG meetup group announces and coordinates all the events that the Edinburgh group of the Humanist Society of Scotland runs. It will also announce the events of the student Humanist Society at the University of Edinburgh. Briefly, if you are interested in meeting people with a down-to-earth approach to life, this is, people living fulfilling lives without any supernatural mumbo jumbo, join this meetup group. This group aims to bring together Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists, Rationalists, Skeptics, and free-thinkers around Edinburgh. ”
