Meetup Cancelled: Science Fiction short story night Plus: possibility of movie night?

Science Fiction short story night, scheduled to occur on Wednesday, February 15,[masked]:00 PM has been cancelled. Please update your plans accordingly.

If you have further questions, you can email me through the Contact Us link on Meetup.

Be honest, you don't give two hoots about short story night. If you did, I'd have seen you there! That's ok, you need a short story, send me an email and I'll send you one, but I think it's time to free up the space for something awesomer that folks would actually want to attend: movie night! I'm thinking (and feedback would be appreciated here) that a double feature on a Saturday, with some dinner in the middle might be pretty awesome.

Picture this: 10 or so folks curled up by the fireplace in my dad's cozy basement, watching Jurassic Park on the 55 inch tv, breaking to discuss the movie over some home made pizza, then Gattica, followed by a rousing conversation of the future of genetics while we munch on some home made cinnamon buns.

Sounds good? We could have a loose theme (space travel, genetics, David Lynch, books to movies, whatever) and pick 2 movies (or a movie and a documentry) that would fit.

I could make dinner, since I like to cook, but if I'm feeding folks I'll have to charge a fee ($5 maybe) to cover the cost. There is also only space for about 10 comfortably, so it would have to be a first come, first serve situation with a backup list in case of cancellations.

What do you guys think? Send me an email through the site and let me know if this would be something you'd want to do, or if you have ideas of how I could do it better.
