Music for a Festive Season: Alberta Baroque Music Society

Alberta Baroque Ensemble is a premier chamber orchestra that specializes in music composed in the 17th and 18th centuries.

You’ll hear performances by some of the finest musicians in Edmonton and featuring distinguished guest soloists with each concert including Lidia Khaner (oboe); Robin Doyon (trumpet) and the Calgary-based early music vocal group VoiceScapes . Works featured this season include the better-known composers of the era: J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel, and rarer recognized greats Manfredini, Dittersdorf and Albinoni.

After a highly successful season last year, the Alberta Baroque Ensemble’s 33rd season will continue to prove why it’s been such a significant mainstay in the Edmonton arts scene since 1980.

I don't remember off the top of my hand. I think I'll go to the Starbucks, the one just on the other side of 124th. It's the only cafe I can remember about.

Hi everyone, very sorry about this, but I have come down with a cold and am no longer able to attend coffee and concert. I really wanted to check out the Baroque Ensemble. :(

Sorry, can't make it because I'm going to the Kokopelli concert on Saturday night, and I will have good-tidings overload if I see two on the same weekend. Have fun!

Got my ticket, see you guys there. I'm with Maria, would love to meet the group for coffee beforehand, at say 2pm.

    Hey,
Do you guys want to grab or get together after the concert, maybe dinner since the concert should be over by 6pm.

Hi Freeman, I've actually committed to another event after the concert, so I'm not able to have dinner afterwards. If anyone wants to have a coffee beforehand, I would be up for that, though. There's a Second Cup right next door, the one by the MEC.

I will try to make it - Tammy Jo is my mentor and taught me how to play the organ. I have even performed at RW. It's a great venue for classical music.
