What is the point of networking? Many people think that networking is to find some new clients. Go to a meeting and find a client or two and you are doing good.
But the truth is networking is about building relationships with people that will send you referrals. If you go to a meeting and get to know someone and build trust with that person over time then you will gain so much more than just a new client. To do this you need to meet someone multiple times.
Over the years I have gone to countless meetings for all sorts of different networking events. In some cases I did get clients that I would see once and never see again, which is ok, but in other cases I would meet just one person that would change my whole year! In fact at one event I met someone that helped me increase my business by over $100,000 the following year.
Have you made that one contact that can change the outcome of 2013? Don't wait until January or February to get motivated. To be successful you need the drive to be constantly finding new business today.
Come on out to the meeting tonight, looks like there will be close to 40 people there, and it only takes one to substantially increase your business.
We will be meeting at the back of the cafe, come on by with lots of business cards, introduce yourself. If you are new to business and meeting people is not something you have done a lot of yet then this is the perfect place to practice, nobody will be judging you, we are laid back, there is nothing formal going on, just a lot of business people talking about their businesses and how you can increase your business.
I look forward to seeing you tonight.
