Hi how are you?
Getting ready for Christmas? Got all your shopping done yet? Hopefully you've been naughty this year...so santa can give you lots of gifts, or is that the other way around? ha ha... ;-)
Hey good news....
I was checking and I'm rather surprised. The Edmonton Entrepreneur meetup group is now the 2nd largest meet up in the whole city, can you imagine? Wow it's fantastic how big we've grown. That's why I want to keep in charge of this, so that it remains both no cost to join and also held each month with no hidden agenda's or other BS that could ruin the good thing we got going on. So keep up the good work. Forward this email to your social circle, maybe we can get some more people on board and attending.
But I had a few thoughts again... since some of you where mentioning you liked reading this stuff....
I was actually gonna write this the other night. I was sleeping and I woke up and I'm laying in bed just thinking about life. And it's just one of those things. Often when you're in the shower or just going to bed, people tend to get the good ideas. That's why it's handy to keep a pen and paper handy to write those down when they do come to you.
Anyway, so I started thinking about the cash flow quadrant. I started thinking about "the rat race". Isn't it funny how life is. If you're not born with a silver spoon in your mouth then basically your the rat. And ideally unless you don't want to work until the day you die, you better come up with a way to get out of the rat race. A way to get off the endless treadwheel that the hamster runs in. Otherwise you'll likely work til you're dead.
Most people are working way way beyond retirement years now a days. Often well into there 70's. I know people well into there 70's still working heavy labor, if you can imagine. Why? Because they have no other choice. They have no other options, because that 500 bucks a month or perhaps 1k that the gov will give you after 65 won't even cover your housing costs. So again if you want to retire early, I mean way early in life, then you need a plan.
But here's the great news....
The shier fact that you're an entrepreneur, that you're coming out the meeting. That you have a business, or that you're looking for one, or that you're even thinking about self employment is absolutely incredible. Because you're well on your way! You might not even realize how powerful a force that is.
Being able to make money for yourself is literally the greatest gift anyone could ever have bestowed upon them. The reason again is that you have the very rare opportunity to actually have a chance at getting out of the rat race. And wow what an easy life if you can actually get out of the rat race.
No more alarm clock for one. No more stressing about bills, about making ends meet, about how you're gonna pay for this or that. About how you're gonna afford your dreams in life. Because you're finally ahead of the eight ball. At last your no longer a slave to the system. And don't kid yourself if you don't get out of the rat race, if you don't come up with a plan and work it, and make it happen, then you're basically gonna be chained to the 9-5 routine your whole life. Basically a slave to the system.
And don't kid youself....
There is a system. The system is all around us. From the time you're born to the time you die it will always be there. Always trying to keep you down. Always trying to take as much from you as it possibly can. Always trying to keep you from thinking and acting for yourself. Always hoping you don't figure things out. Always trying to keep you from thinking outside the box.
It's simple. If they do all those things you stay locked into the system. You remain a slave. You remain working forever. Never ever getting out, and at last being about to do what you want, when you want. So again everything is set up in a way that makes it pretty challenging for the average person to break away from the system. If you don't believe me here's a few factiods...
You get 5 years of freedom. Then at age 5 you get plugged into the system basically. Kindergarden to grade 12. Think back to when you were in school (and I know Im preaching to the quier here but bear with me k) they taught you one major rule of how the world works and it goes like this....
First you must obey your teachers, and you must listen to everything they say so you can get good grades. That way you can ultimately get into college and get a good career. That way you can have a good life. Really??? Could of fooled me!! Think about that. It's a lie. It's the grand lie the system teaching you for a full 13 years. There teaching you that when you become an adult that you'll become a slave. That you'll get on the endless treadmill. That's just sad if you ask me. 13 years of brainwashing? And then even more years if you go to college or university? Wow. Talk about a fraud.
Getting back to my earlier point, no one ever told me I was in quadrant E in my early years. Basically E= Employee. Basically a slave to the system, with little to no options. So lets thank God for the revelations brought to us by Robert Kiosoki, in the cash flow quadrant. Knowing where we are and why were there is the first bit of understanding we need if we ever want to get out. Knowing your in bondage, again as early as age 5 is the first step. If we know where we are and why were there at least we stand a chance to get out.
And what's just incredible to me is that you are the group that's getting out of the rat race. You have no idea how exciting that is to me. To actually be able to talk to people that are working on there escape from the system. That are at last thinking and acting outside the box. That are working on pulling there own strings. That want to make there own life. That want to set there own income level. That want to have the time freedom to be able to get up when they want. Do what they want. Not have anyone telling them or forcing them to labor endless hours for a system that could care less about them. A system that infact doesn't even care if you end up starving or dead for that matter.
I know I'm talking extreme here....
But lets face the facts for a second here? Lets get our thinking outside the box. What's the box? The tv is one major part of it. We're so brainwashed by main stream media that as long as we can watch Survivor or Hockey, that as long as we get the weekend off, that as long as we get the table scraps of what we call a paycheck, one can easily learn to accept that as "the way life is". But I'm here to try and bash into your brain that "it doesn't have to be that way". You can have, do, be, and experience so much more to life that it will knock your socks off.
But the only way that's gonna happen is if you turn off that tv. Start thinking outside the box. Start getting a bit extreme. Start recognizing that unless you come up with a plan and work that plan you're never gonna get out of the rat race. You're never gonna have true freedom. You're never gonna have enough money to make all your dreams come true and those of your loved ones. So again, it's time for you perhaps to start getting a bit extreme so that you can actually break away from the system that's enslaving you to these endless 9 to 5 hours and table scraps for paychecks. Again the stakes are high, it's only your dreams, your future, your whole life for that matter.
So again I congradulate you so much for starting to think outside the box. By being an entrepreneur you're actually doing that because you're figuring out a way to make an income for yourself. And once you do that and you start to leverage it, you'll quickly have enough income coming in where you'll at last get out of the rat race once and for all.
Again there are such powerful forces, propaganda even from the time were as young as 5yrs, trying to enslave you for life. Trying to keep you from starting your own successful business. Trying to keep you from pulling your own strings and gaining your freedom from the system. But your on your way, so get extreme about it, work hard and smart for a short time to build your business to the point where your have all the income you need to at last get out of the rat race so you can start really living your dreams.
It can happen too. If one thing isn't working try something new. It often takes about 10 tries to start just 1 business. Then it usually takes anywhere from 2 to 5 successful business ventures before you finally have enough income and experience behind your belt that you've gained enough coin to retire if you want to.
So again just keep trying, keep learning, keep listening to successful entrepreneurs like Donald Trump, Robert Kiosoki, Zig Ziggler, Anthony Robbins, and other smart people. Keep refining your skills because in order to be competitive in what you want to become successful you'll need to become an expert at it.
Also the past doesn't equal the future. It never does. If what you're doing isnt' working. If it's not showing signs of making steady income for you, and growth, then don't be afraid to try something completely new. You might be one business away from starting something that's gonna at last give you your freedom in life. And it is possible.
And don't kid yourself, your on the verge of a life you're really gonna enjoy. Once you get your business going strong and you can at last get out of the rat race it's no different that winning the lotto. You actually can live like a lotto winner. Travel, help your family, have nice things, explore things your passionate about, or whatever your heart desires. So just keep trying, keep learning, stay passionate, and think outside the box and what main stream media is telling you, and you might just make it out of quadrant E.
So anyway, I've blabbed on long enough. I hope you have a fun Christmas. Try and do something good for a needy person as well. It's not your family that needs another gift that they'll probably regift anyway. It's that drunk downtown who just wasn't born or didn't have the same opportunities or smarts you have that needs a helping hand. So go down there and help them out. Again I always tell people it's not about what they'll do with what you give them. It's about you exercising your ability to defeat greed, ego and self centeredness that matters most and that will get you back in touch with your humanity. So do something that you can look back and think, wow I really helped someone who actually needed the help this year.
The next entrepreneur meeting is on January 23rd at 7pm at the Second cup on 178 st and 69 ave. rsvp now below. And forward this email on to a few friends. Try and make it out next month. Have a happy holidays. ttyl
