EdTech DFW Meetup

Venue: Room 108, Collins Center, SMU

After the lull of summer and the buzz of back to school we feel like we can breathe now! We have an exciting topic and an interesting speaker for our next meetup. Eric Reeves will discuss the impact of House Bill 5 (HB 5) on Educators and Entrepreneurs. Well! HB 5 ....Its omnipresent.....We have heard about it from teachers, publishers, school administrators, policy makers, PTA...and everyone else under the sun and we are curious as to what all the talk is about. You wouldn't want to miss this one!

The EMBA office at the Collins center at SMU will host the meetup. Mark your calendars, share this on your social media , bring friends and come join us.

Thanks to Eric for the informative discussion. HB5 is one of the more sweeping changes for Texas education that's come along in awhile. Judging from the discussion, and the activities of some of the members, there appears to be some genuine potential for public-private partnership that will be great for all! Thanks to the organizers for getting this Meetup going...

Given that SBOE hasn't determined requirements for endorsements, distinguished achievement or performance acknowledgments for the Foundation Program (ie, only able to earn a foundation diploma) what would one advise a student graduating in 2014 regarding the Foundation Program (assuming completion by Summer 2014)?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
