Building Realtime (or close to real time) Apps

It's been six months since our last meetup, so let's get back together. This meetup will feature three 25 minute talks about some of the technologies used in building real time apps.

Wayne Elgin, a developer at Cantina will be presenting an overview of Meteor.js. Meteor.js is a framework for building autoupdating applications quickly.

Brian Warner, a developer at Traackr, will be talking about some best practices and technologies for indexing large quantities of data.

Tom Morse, VP Technology Development at Vista Higher Learning, will be presenting the technology that powers and demoing their real time educational video collaboration platform.

We'll be holding the meetup at Cantina's new digs located at 320 Congress St on the first floor. We'll be providing free beer and tasty pizza. Be sure to RSVP, so we know how much we need.

Great talks. Very informative. I liked the casual and relaxed atmosphere. The speakers were also very open and honest about their technology, which made for a great learning experience.

I have gone to several meetups, but there does not seem to be
any interest in real time data analysis of the economic markets of
which I have over 25 years of knowledge. Let me know if there is any interest in this group.
