Becoming a mentor will involve a minimum of phone and/or email support as well as attendance to one or more of the events listed on our website over the course of the next month or so. Of course – your participation outside these scheduled events is welcomed but that will be left up to you and your “veg pledger.”
This year's program is being run by the following team: Jon & Heather Repole, Francesca Taylor, Diana Waldron, Elizabeth DeCoux, Bill Angel and Deborrah Hoag.
Please stop by our booth at VegFest for more details and feel free to e-mail us with any questions at [masked]. We will need help in spreading the word at VegFest. If you have interest, please come and pick up brochures at our booth to help hand out to anyone you meet that day who you feel could benefit. Lastly, we will meet as a group on Sunday, November 4th, 2012, at Jacksonville Health and Wellness at 11:30am to discuss further details of program and your participation. All of the pledgers will be coming at 1pm for the following activities: potluck (all mentors will be asked to bring a dish for us to all share), movie (Forks Over Knives followed by brief discussion), & a mini food demo. This meeting will allow us all to meet and mingle to help pair the right mentors and pledgers.
What is MentorMe?
MentorMe is Jacksonville’s free, volunteer-run, mentoring program for anyone looking to transition to a plant based diet lifestyle ultimately helping the animals, our environment, and your health. It is one of endXmeat’s most important initiatives. The program will include: YOU as a personal mentor to someone, viewing of films (Earthlings and Forks Over Knives) followed by group discussion, food demonstrations, field trip to a local animal sanctuary, nutrition classes, guest kecture, potlucks, dinners at local vegan-friendly restaurants, and much more.

I am a vegan as of 9/22/12.. I have so much to learn and need someone to mentor me. I dont feel I have enough knowledge to mentor someone else yet.. Please keep me updated with events. Also, when and where is vegfest?
