126The South Metro Denver Chamber is leading a coalition of leaders in a public/private partnership to explore aspects of renewable energy. These forward-thinking business professionals want to create jobs, put Colorado on the map as a technology hub and provide an energy road map for the next generation. This is the execution of the idea that the entire south metro area can exist on alternative and renewable fuels. It begins with conservation and recycling and moves into tomorrow with all sorts of new "green" initiatives. Whether you are looking at "green" as a way to save Mother Earth or "green" as a way to profit on this new eco-economy, this Task Force has both goals in mind for south metro businesses. Brian Bartony Coordiantor Renewable Energy Taskforce.
Energy and Sustainability Infrastructure Mission Statement
The Education/Information Element:
Provide interesting and informative speakers who have expertise in the field or in one of its elements, to educate and inform Chamber partners, and others within the community who have an interest in it, and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas.
The Commercial/Network Element:
Bring together and collaborate with existing and start up businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, consultants, suppliers, governmental agencies, and other Chamber partners, to build networks, and establish mutually beneficial business/commercial relationships.
The Policy Element:
Empower the group and lay the groundwork for the possible establishment of a “Colorado energy policy”, which will promote the growth of the industry within essential environmental parameters, promote overall economic prosperity within the State, and provide expanded employment opportunities.
