I liked the idea of the Philosophy Cafe, but expected a more cohesive conversation. Instead it was a smorgasboard of different ideas and sentiments in a too controlled environment. Still I took a great snippet away with me: Sweet reason, the truth can wait.

Look forward to it. Here are some more suggestions:
    1) What is the relevance of philosophy for multinational corporations?
    2) How important are functioning relationships to deal with the challenges of the 21st century?

Hi Michael. Met you over the summer and we discussed the need for discussion topics for these meetings. Here's are a couple that you might consider: 1) do your personal interests serve the public good, and if they don't, then why should society protect you?, 2) since mathematics only works when everyone assumes the same set of assumptions, should (or, really, can) the same procedure help the field of ethics make a more meaningful impact? Cheers, Michael (de Los Angeles)

    What is . . .
. . . the theme or subject of the meeting. Do you decide on the evening between the members who show up? Do I need to read a book to prepare or do I just show up without any preconceived ideas?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
