Philo-Diner on Sunday , June 22nd! (The Cafe Philo in English’s NEW EVENT, 10th edition)
Hello Philo Cafe friends!
As mentioned in the last Cafe Philo In English at the Flore we are organizing the 10th Philo Diner Event!!

It will be on Sunday, June 22nd from 7:30 to 10:30 at my St Michel home (address and info after RSVP).

We’ll have the (good) food ready when you get there and we should start choosing the topic at 8 PM to finish the discussion at 10. Then we’ll have some time to chat freely until we part.
Food and drinks will be provided and there will be a Contribution.

Please RSVP for the dinner on Meetup : http://www.meetup.com/english-cafe-philo-in-paris/

IMPORTANT: Since we will be at most 25 in the main room of the place, reservations are mandatory and will be valid only when confirmed.
Cancellations should be at the very latest Friday 12:00.

CANCELLATIONS either too late and no-shows will result in being barred from the group. Sorry, but this is a lack of respect for the people who help prepare the event.

Welcome all and remember to write great topics ! (It’s easier if you do it beforehand! ) Sincerely Michael

If, in decision making, the Empirical approach is flawed by the potential for lack or misinterpretation of evidence, are we restricted to a Cartesian approach or is there an experientially validated middle path?

And you say that you have no formal education in philo ? Just some middle path....In short (and in cafe philo vocabulary) your questions seems to be..." How can we be sure to make the right decisions ?" or 'Can we ever be sure...etc?" Pls feel free to submit it !

Anthony, an experimentially validated middle path would by definition be empirical. The closest to a middle ground would be Kantian categories. May I come to the Philosophy Dinner after being such a pain in the ass?
