We were pleased to welcome students and staff from Blyth College, Canada to a discussion on a topic suggested by one of the staff: "Is humanity getting better" - partly motivated by a feeling that the younger generation are often unfairly criticised. It included discussion of "hopes and fears" we need to keep alive and heed.
Hello Ted and thanks for your pics, legends and intput.
it was a real pleasure to have these old teenagers among us, hear their "attacks" on the terrible world we are leaving them and there deterination to make things better. Good luck to them ! Actaully the room was FULL of kids, but some, somehow, got older. I hope they - or others - will come again.

Yes, I'm Sure
This is a "Classic Philo Cafe".
It happens once a month in a cafe in the Latin Quarter (Cafe de Flore).
It is public, free (but you must buy a drink) and it lasts 2 hours from 7 to 9 PM on a wednesday.
Topics are proposed by the attendees and then one of them is chosen on the basis of its interest as a topic for all.
People speak one at a time (there is a microphone).
The "model" is the Cafe des Phares (in french) which is every sunday at the place de la Bastille from 11 AM to 13 PM.
It's fun, ....and serious !
