The theme of our Meetup will be “The challenges of starting a new business venture in today’s economic climate” and our guest speaker is Nikhil Shahl co-founder of

Mixcloud is the HOME for on-demand radio - the YouTube of Radio. They are aggregating this fragmented market of radio content in order to commercialise it more effectively. The radio industry has been slow to adapt to the internet. It is still largely in the broadcast model - content is difficult to discover, share, distribute and  monetize. Nikhil recently launched an on-line business that is getting rave reviews and press, attracting world class content and advertisers and seeing strong month-on-month growth. The management team are mainly engineers and mathematicians from Cambridge University, with extensive experience in web development through to marketing. Nikhil will be sharing with our members the challenges he faced and is facing in starting and growing a new business from scratch. There will also be a Q&A session and lots of time to Network with members of our group.
